Allah Rakha Rahman, also known as A.R. Rahman was born on January 6th, 1966 in Chennai, India. He is an Indian composer, producer, singer, musician, and philanthropist. He was described as the world’s most prolific and prominent film composer by Time, and his work is notable for combining eastern classical music with electronic sounds. He won two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, four National Film Awards, a Golden Globe, and a BAFTA Award. He was also referred to as the “Mozart of Madras” and several Tamil critics nicknamed him Isai Puyal, which means “music storm” in English. With all his achievements, A.R. Rahman is the face of the Indian music industry.


Ilaiyaraaja was born on June 2nd, 1943 and he is a famous composer, singer, and lyricist. During his 30-year career, he has composed over 4.000 songs and provided background music for more than 800 Indian movies in different languages. He is the recipient of three Indian National Film Awards for best scoring.

Yuvan Shankar Raja

Yuvan Shankar Raja was born on August 31st, 1979 and he is a singer, songwriter, film score and soundtrack composer, and an occasional lyricist from Chennai. He is the youngest son of the previous mentioned Ilaiyaraaja and he began his musical career when he was only 16-years old when he composed his first film score for Aravindhan.

Harris Jayaraj

Harris Jayaraj was born on January 8th, 1975 and he is a Tamil composer. He wrote scores and soundtracks for various Tamil movies, and he even played the music for some of them. Harris entered the music industry as a musician, programming scores and drum percussion for movies that the famous A.R. Rahman produced. His first music score was for a commercial Tamil movie called Minnale.


Hariharan was born on April 3rd, 1955 in Kerala. He is an Indian classical and playback singer whose songs have been featured in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada movies. He received the National Award for playback singing two times, and he was also awarded the prestigious Padma Shri by the government of India back in 2004. He used to put over thirteen hours into singing and practicing every day, refusing to finish until the session was over.
